Hello again, fellow guitar lovers! Finally getting around to a new commentary/update here. Been busy with the band (ESP- downstate Illinois Pemiere Rock Act) and of course teaching.I have a few really good students right now, guys that really practice and want to learn how to be good soloists and really well rounded players. You guys know who you are. Keep up the good work. It really makes me happy to see you put so much into it. I have just completed the latest current lesson for the site, playing the C Major Scale, and using the scale in a solo. Also, I have released on CD-ROM two complete volumes (Beginner and Intermediate) of lessons from the site. This allows much better video quality (no streaming) and doesn't tie up the phone lines for all you dial-up folks out there. Available locally at Corson Music, or email me for purchase info. Site News: New Current Lesson and Complete Beginner Series now available!! 6 Part Complete Beginner Method presents all basic aspects of learning to play the guitar in an amazingly simple and easy to follow format. RealVideo and detailed, easy to follow lessons made with Flash animation guarantees you will be playing single notes and chords in no time! Try stopping RealPlayer and minimize screen while watching Flash lesson. Then restore RealPlayer to refer to video. Plus, you can email me with any questions or comments/suggestions. Subscription Service will be working soon, which will finally allow me start covering some of the expense of getting all this together!! I'd do it for free forever if I could, but I gotta eat, and pay the server! The good news is that the first 4 beginner lessons, as well as all reference areas (tuning, glossary, sample lesson) will remain free. Introductory rates will be $9.95/week; $24.95/month; $69.95/year. Subscription allows access to all lessons on site for term of subscription, currently over 4 hours of lessons (would cost well over $100.00 if taking private lessons!). Advanced level lessons covering some lead techniques and theory are coming next. And please email me with any ideas for lessons- what do you want to know? Odds and Ends: I attended the Last Dance, Ohio Valley Wrestling's last show ever at the Louisville Gardens in Lousville, KY recently. What a blast! OVW is a developmental federation for WWF. The card featured Undertaker, Kane, Big Show, Jericho, Saturn and Malenko from WWF, as well as some great OVW guys, including Leviathon, a totally massive dude. Outrageous! Of course, not like the over the top rush of an ECW show (RIP), but a good time was had by all. Will be attending Brian Pillman Memorial Show in Cincinnati in August, and probably a couple Chicago indy shows. Support your area indy wrestling feds! In many ways, it's alot like rock'n'roll- music, acting, and lots of jumping around and mayhem. What more could you want? Find out more at 1Wrestling.com in the Moonsaults Online column by Jess McGrath. Well, guess that's about it for now. Take it easy, and keep practicing! |
